The Decree in accordance with the Law of European Communities lays down detailed conditions for the use of genetically modified organisms and genetic products, and/or the requirements for granting the consent for the contained use of genetically modified organisms, the requirements for granting the consent for the introduction of genetically modified organisms into the environment, the requirements of the request for the registration into the List of genetically modified organisms and genetic products authorized to be placed on the market, the requirements for notification of the contained use of genetically modified organisms in the first and second risk category, the requirements for the summary of the contents of the request, the requirements and procedures of the risk assessment, threshold minimum of unavoidable traces, the requirements for contained space and protective measures for the individual risk categories during the contained use of genetically modified organisms, the manner and the scope of keeping records, the requirements for the Emergency Response Plan and the requirements for the assessment report.

The Decree 209/2004 is related to the Act 78/2004.

The Decree paricularly applies to contained use, release into the environment and registration into the List of genetically modified organisms and genetic products authorized to be placed on the market.
